Ac. 14, 5-18 Ps. 113 Jn. 14, 21-26

MONDAY of 5th WEEK of EASTER

“Anyone who loves me will keep my word, and my Father will love him, and we shall come to him and make a home in him.”

In manifesting to us his Immense Love, Jesus speaks to us of his desire that we enter into the fullness of His Love.“Whoever loves me, my father will love them”. The disciples are wondering where Jesus will lead them! We are called to remain faithful to him in the midst of our daily life and to make his message of Love present to those whom we meet every day.Through our baptism we became a part of the Body of Christ. From now on his desire for us is that we live from him and through him. He wants us to reach the very Source of Divine Love which is God’s Trinitarian Love. Saint Josemaria tells us that this is why, whatever our miseries, we are to be in continual conversation with Our Lord Jesus Christ. Since God loves us so much, He dos not want to do without us. Jesus assures us that he will be present in us through the dwelling of the Love of the Blessed Trinity in us. It is a completely new thing for humanity, that it can remain in God’s Love. Thus we enter into God’s Love and the Love Jesus has for humanity, just as he revealed it to us. Jesus tells us that whoever loves in this way, ’My Father will love them and we shall make our dwelling place in them.“God resides in the deepest part of mankind, within His Heart!”Judas -not Judas Iscariot- said to him, ’Lord, what has happened, that you intend to show yourself to us and not to the world?’ Jesus replied : ’Anyone who loves me will keep my word, and my Father will love him, and we shall come to him and make our home in him. Anyone who does not love me does not keep my words. And the word that you hear is not my own : it is the word of the Father who sent me.’ “When we do what Jesus says and did, it is a proof that we love him.” Whoever holds my commandments and keeps them is the one who loves me; and whoever loves me will be loved by my Father and I shall love him and reveal myself to him.“To think about this helps us to remain in the Presence of God, and puts far from us other desires or thoughts that make us waste our time and prevent us from accomplishing God’s Will. Whoever is faithful to the way Jesus was faithful to his Father is the one who loves Jesus in a very practical way. Saint Gregory the Great said : ’Don’t let us be seduced by the flattery of prosperity, for the one who travels on his way losing himself in the sight of pretty meadows, forgetting where he is heading for, is someone who is daft.’ This fidelity is within each one of us and is love; there is no room for speeches! We respectfully adapt ourselves to the other person who is different to myself. If we are to love God in a realistic manner, we are to love our neighbour, the people close to us and in loving him, it is God whom we love.”I have said these things to you whilst still with you; but the Paraclete, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you everything and remind you of all I have said to you.“God’s Presence in our hearts helps us to discover what Providence asks of us and God helps us to bring it about in the world. The Holy Spirit, the Paraclete, suggests to our hearts initiatives to take so as to place God at the summit of all our human activties. If we have this intimacy with Jesus, we feel his friendship at all times and everywhere we go . His Light and Love are poured out upon us. Our Mother Mary intercedes for us so that we may enter into the Light of the Resurrection. Mary understands Jesus’ astonishing words. His mother is the only one who knows where he came from, and knows about the mysterious links that unite them. The disciples have all sorts of questions, Jesus said to them : ’Where I am going, you cannot come.’ He was speaking about his Passion .By recalling the washing of the feet and the Eucharist, we know how to be present to each other.”As I have loved you, love one another." Every day we try to put into practice His Living Word. A new Life has been given to us.

Let us ask God for the grace to understand that He works in Love, and that in His Love we are with Him .
