Thursday of 2nd Week of Easter, 7th April 2016 “He who comes from above is above all others ; he who is of the earth is earthly himself and speaks in an earthly way. he who comes from heaven bears witness to the things he has seen or heard, but his testimony is not accepted by anybody.”
There isn’t any common measure between Heaven and earth. Jesus bears witness to Heaven, of this “beyond all things” that no one has ever seen, apart from the One who comes from above.
Jesus come from Heaven, is the unique source of knowledge of above. The witness of Jesus is that of a person who is committed to Truth.
The one who accepts his witness certifies that God speaks the Truth, the reception of Jesus’ witness is linked to the life of the witness.
At every moment and in all circumstances, we need to make an effort to have God’s thoughts, the same feelings as Jesus had and to aspire to look at men and circumstances with the same gaze as of the Word become flesh. If we act as ’the One come from above’ we shall be able to discover positive aspects that happen around us all the time, for God’s Love and his Action continue in favour of mankind.
We welcome the Gift of Love that God gives to us in overabundance and we become the beloved children of the Father, the sisters and brothers of Jesus who love one another. Thus we live from the very Life of God and of His Infinite Love - to be edified in Truth is to be edified in God.
“Anyone who does accept his testimony is attesting that God is true, since he whom God has sent speaks god’s own words, for God gives him the Spirit without reserve.”
God loves His Son and God loves us. He has us participate in the communion o with His beloved Son, in the Spirit. God has placed everything in the hands of His Son, divine paternity links together the two extremes separated from an infinite distance, that of the Heavenly Father who loves his earthly child. Thus
the infinite distance, that has always subsisted is conciliated by a relationship of love, every man who believes in the Son, in Jesus, will obtain eternal life. To accept Jesus’ witness is to be turned to God as as child turns towards his father. To become Jesus’ witness is to make proof of a great spiritual freedom overcoming one’s fears, threats and real obstacles that can lead to martyrdom. The liar, the deceitful one awakens anger in man, dominating and oppressing humanity.
When I dominate others, I impose my ideas on them, I am not in a state of love. Every day we have an experience of misunderstandings amongst us because we are of this earth. To love, leave the place to others means that we live out our relationships in truth in Christ Jesus.
“The Father loves the Son and has entrusted everything to his hands. Anyone who believes in the Son has eternal life, but anyone who refuses to believe in the Son will never see life; God’s retribution hangs over him.”
At all time and in all circumstances, we make an effort to serve without expecting anything in return, without having the need for another to create a communion which is deeply human in teh respect of each one.
Following Jesus, serving and witnessing alays go together, our world i in need of genuine witnesses.
To believe in Jesus is to adhere to his Infinite Love and so, through this new life, bear witness to Him.
Jesus comes from Heaven, he bears witness to wht he has seen.
Jesus comes from the Father, he is the only ne who can speak about God and men.
’The one who accepts his witness certifies that God is true.’
The Truth of God is the Love He proposes. There is no other truth than a life of Love which is a life of Light. In Jesus, Heaven and earth have come together.
Following Jesus, the Apostles, by giving their life as Him, bear witness, they manifest that Jesus is the Messiah, the One who comes from God.
