Saturday of 24th week, even numbered year
"With a large crowd gathering and people from every town finding their way to him, he told this parable : ’ A sower went out to sow his seed. Now as he sowed, some fell on the edge of the path and was trampled on ; and the birds of the air ate it up.
Some seed fell on rock, and when it came up it withered away, having no moisture.
Some seed fell in the middle of thorns and the thorns grew with it and choked it and choked it."
The word is stifled, for the thorns have grown in full liberty. Jesus speaks of the ’concerns of the world’ of the ’seduction of riches’, it is all about how our conscience gets corrupted.
It is not the cultivator nor the seed that explains everything - what explains everything is how our heart makes itself available.
God’s goodness for mankind is immense for He welcomes all those who listen to the Word with attention and who keep it faithfully. And so a courage comes that makes the most of the Word.
We grasp how the earth is transformed by the good Seed, the Word of God. God tirelessly awaits for the good earth to receive Jesus, Seed of a new life. He wants to transform our good earth so that divine grace produces good fruits.
The heart that is prepared like the good earth is one which has been awoken by God’s Holy Spirit. When the heart is made attentive like this, the Word is retained and finally the fruit is produced.
Mary’s most beautiful fruit is the Heart of Jesus woven in her flesh, the most marvellous gift of God.
" And some fell onto good soil and grew and produced its crop a hundredfold’. Saying this, he cried ’ Anyone who has ears for listening should listen!’
Truth provokes us so that we can earn how to look for the meaning of the parables. Jesus makes use of symbols so that despite our weakness we might discover his Words.
Riches are thorns and our mind is torn with the injections of preoccupations they engender. They take us as far as sinfulness, inflicting bloody wounds upon us. Jesus calls these riches ’deceitful’ for we are unable to conserve them for any length of time and they take away the poverty of soul from us.
Money, thirst of possessions, power and knowledge turn us away from our true ending and our Truth. The only true Riches are those that have us aspire to the Kingdom of God.
The Words of life aliment justice, they conserve in our hearts th nourishment of the soul.
We take care of the Word we receive, may it remain in the ear of your hart, out of fear that the evil one when it comes may take away the word from your memory.
"His disciples asked him what this parable might mean, and he said ’To you si granted to understand the secrets of the kingdom of God; for the rest it remains in parables, so that
They may look but not perceive
Listen but not understand "
In the gift she makes of herself Mary receives a new Life. We understand how God is ’generous’ when he sows the good seed. We let ourselves be transformed by the gift of the Body and Blood of Jesus given in the Eucharsit, the ’Good Seed’ that transforms our earth.
According to the welcome and reception we make of this gift, of its love, we bear fruit in the Church. It is the mystery of the Woman, th Creature, it is the mystery of Mary who kept all things in her heart and meditated them.
The good seed is the Word of God that became rooted in her at the Annunciation. It is the good earth that received the Gift of God, Jesus ; she was prepared by the Spirit : ’The Holy Spirit will cover you with his shadow’.
Out of this was born anew Being conceived in her womb, Jesus living from the Holy Spirit.
Mary is transformed by this Gift she received from God she will give her body, her mind and her body so as to receive Jesus
’The woman made the Bread’ Said Saint Bernard!
What is given to us is the whole Love of Jesus for Mary so that we continue to bear fruit in her and with her.
