6th Sunday of Easter, year ’C’

Ac.15,1-2.22-29 Ps.66 Ap.21,10-14.22-23 Jn.14,23-29

Jesus has us go down into the deepest parts of ourselves, where questions and where concerns and fears flow. In this place he comes and tells us that in prayer God is always the beginning and that He always takes the initiative. He is the One who speaks and the One who comes.

Jesus tells his disciples who are not spared of hardships : ’My Peace I leave you, my peace I give you, not as the world gives do I give."

In the end, it is in Christ that all the difficulties of our life are resolved.

The Words of Jesus are at the same time a call and a question : ’If someone loves me, he will remain faithful to my Words. My Father will love Him and we shall come to Him an remain close to him. ’

The Father, Source of all Love is the flaming furnace that wants to set us on fire.

The same Love that Jesus communicates to Mary and John at the Cross spreads throughout the whole Church. It is the fire which Jesus came to bring upon earth.

God is like a friend who stays with the one He loves, He took on our humanity from the Virgin Mary so that we would once more be clothed in his divinity.

“I have said these things to you whilst still with you; but the Parcelete, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you everything and remind you of all I have said to you.”Peace I give you, my peace I leave you.Not as the world gives do I give my peace."

We need to remain in the faith of Jesus’ word ’If someone loves me he will remain faithful to my Word.’

This fidelity to Jesus and his Word is the shining forth of the Father’s Glory.

We become children of God ’and so we are!’ If someone loves me, my Father will love him, he will keep my Word, this Word of the Father who sent me.

To love Jesus means to believe in Him. God ahs spoken.

It means to welcome in Him the Love the Father offers to the world. Our love for Jesus is a response to the Love which God bears to us in his Son.

God erupts in us with all his Tenderness : ’we shall make our dwelling place in you."

We let ourselves be made younger by this word. When we discover it and adhere to it in faith we become similar to it.

If we were poor enough we would be very like Jesus! The mystery of God’s light would pass through us, through our humanity.

To enter into the newness of the Holy Spirit means, in continuity with Jesus’ Words, to gradually discover the Name of God which is Love.

And so the Paraclete will have us hear, from the bottom of the heart, the language of victorious Love, ’the language of the cross’.

In a few days we shall celebrate the feat of the Ascension, Jesus going to his father and he says ’You will be in a state of Joy.’ This is paradox , Jesus is leaving and he is saying we are going to be a in a state of Joy!

The one ho is born of the Virgin Mary, the eternal Son of the Father, came to manifest the way of the Father. He leaves again for the Father and he takes us with Him.

"You heard me say I am going away and hall return. If you loved me you would be glad that I am going to the Father, for the Father is greater than I.

I have said this to you now , before it happens, so that when it does happen you may believe."

God is expecting faith from us, he wants our consent so as to be able to give Himself to us. In solitude we need to look at what God ahs done so as to love us so much that he wants to love us. We leave him free to come and dwell within us, by the path he has chosen for us the way of Jesus.

Following Mary the Virgin of Nazareth, it is a question for us that we discover with wonder and thanksgiving the eternal Love of the Father in daily life.

God is simple and so will our gaze be simple once God ahs purified it. And so our whole being will be bathed in light our heart will stop fearing and being disturbed.

It is time for the preparation for Pentecost, the Church is going to intensify her prayer so as to beg the Spirit to come to us, for He is our life. The Holy Spirit joins to our spirit so we cry out ’Abba, darling Daddy.’

It is a true identity to humanity grafted on Jesus’ mystery as an ambassador in the world.

How wonderful! At the instant Jesus goes up to Heaven he tells us to continue the work he began! I am with you until the end of time!

We ask fro the grace to be fortified by the Holy Spirit.

Sunday of 6th week of Easter, year ’C’ 1st May 2016

“Jesus answers him ’If someone loves me, he will keep my word; my Father will love him, we shall come to him and make our abode in him.Whoever does not love me does not keep my words. Now, the word you hear is not fro m me : it is from the Father who sent me.”

Jesus has us go down into the deepest parts of ourselves, where we have questions coming up in us all the time, where worries and fears are rampant.

Here is where Jesus comes and tells us once again that in prayer, God is always the beginning, and that he takes the initiative, He is the One who speaks and who comes.

Jesus says to the disciples who are not without hardships :

’My Peace I leave you, my peace I give you, it is not as the world that I give you.’

It is in Christ from now on that all our difficulties will be resolved.

’If someone loves me’, he says. It is at the same time a call and a question ’He will remain faithful to my words’. My Father will love Him and we shall come to him.

Source of all Love, the Father is the ardent furnace who wants to put us on fire. The same Love that Jesus communicates to Mary and John at the Cross is propagated throughout the whole of the Church. This is the Fire that Jesus came to bring on earth. God is like a Friend who remains with His Loved One, he has taken on our humanity from the Virgin Mary so that we may be clothed in his Divinity.

“I speak to you like this so long as I remain with you; but the Paraclete, the Holy Spirit whom the Father will send in my name will teach you all things, and he will remind you of all I have told you. My peace I leave you, my peace I give you; it is not as the world gives that I give you. Don’t let your heart be troubled nor afraid.”

If someone loves me he will remain faithful to my Word.’ This fidelity to Jesus and his Word is the shining Glory of the Father. We become children of God ’and so we are’ !

If someone loves me, my Father will love Him and he will keep my Word, this Word of the Father who sent me.

To love Jesus means that I believe in Him and that God has spoken. It means to welcome in Him the Love that the Father offers to the world. Our Love for Jesus is a response to the Love which God bears for us in his Son.

God erupts in us with all His Tenderness : ’We shall make our abode in him.’

We let ourselves become rejuvenated by this Word. When we discover it and adhere to it in faith, we become like Him.

If we were poor enough, there would be a greater likeness between Jesus and ourselves!

The mystery of God’s Light would pass through us, through our humanity. To enter into the newness of the Holy Spirit is, in the same line as Jesus’ Word, to discover gradually the Name of God ,which is Love.

Thus the Paraclete would have us hear, in the depths of our heart, the language of victorious Love, ’the language of the Cross.’

In a few days we are going to celebrate the Ascension, Jesus leaves for the Father and He says : ’You shall be in Joy.’

This is something of a paradox : Jesus is going away and he says we shall be in joy!

The one who is born of the Virgin Mary, the Eternal Son of the Father, has come to manifest the Way of the Father. He goes away to join the Father, taking us with Him.

“You have heard what I have said : I am going away and I come back to you. If you love me, you would be joyful for the Father is greater than I . I have told you these things now before they happen ; so that when they do happen you shall believe.”

God expects us to have faith, our consent so he can give Himself to us.

In solitude, we need to take a look at what God has done to love us as much as He wants to move us.

We leave him free so as to come and make His Abode in us, by the path he has chosen for us, the path of Jesus.

Following Mary, the Virgin of Nazareth, it is a question of us discovering, with marvel and thanksgiving, the Eternal Love of the Father in our daily life.

God is simple, and simple will our gaze be when God will have purified it. And so the whole of our being will be in Light, our heart will stop worrying and being afraid.

During this time of Preparation for Pentecost, the Church intensifies her prayer, begging the Holy Spirit to come in us for He is our life.

The Holy Spirit joins our spirit so that we may cry to the Father : ’Abba!’ Darling Daddy! It is a real identification of humanity, grafted to the mystery of Jesus, as ambassador in the world. How marvellous! At the moment Jesus goes up to Heaven, he is telling us to continue the work he has begun! I am with you until the end of time!

We ask for the grace to be fortified by the Holy Spirit.
